Forecast Discussion

Tonight and Wednesday Morning a Weather Impact Alert is in effect due to record cold low temperatures and icy road conditions. We’re forecasting between 15 to 18 degrees in the Triangle and 12 to 14 degrees in the Lakes Area. An Extreme Cold Weather Warning is in effect…this is pipe-busting weather! But also check your antifreeze, be careful with space heaters and heating your home (check in on your elderly neighbors), ensure pets are indoors and warm and take care of your plants.

Wednesday afternoon, sunny skies are forecast with highs in the middle 30s to around 40 degrees.

Another Weather Impact Alert will be in effect Wednesday Night through Thursday Morning due to the potential for a few slick/icy spots still possible. Another hard freeze is forecast with lows in the lower 20s.
