Obituary of Jimmie Dalton Mott October 24, 1946 - March 11, 2025

Jimmie Dalton Mott, 78, of Spurger, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in Spurger, Texas.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 beginning at 12 noon until 2 p.m. service time at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with Military Honors burial following in Beech Creek Cemetery in Spurger, Texas. Officiating will be Brother Kenny Rawls. Serving as pallbearers will be E.J. Ledet, Cody Cline, Bryan Collier, Dalton Grice, John Grant, Neil Grice, Travis Mott, and Melvin Mott.
Jimmie was born October 24, 1946 to George Kozum and Laura Frances Jordan Mott in Spurger, Texas. He was a retired correctional officer from the TDC Gib Lewis Unit in Woodville. He loved being outdoors raising watermelons and gardening, hunting, fishing, and watching rodeos on television. He was a faithful member of the Jasper chapter of ALANON as well as Beech Creek Baptist Church and Snow River Lodge AF & AM #385
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Linda Marie Roy Mott: parents, George and Laura Mott; brothers, Kozum Earl Mott, Irvin Mott; sisters, Willie Fay Collier, Ruth Powell, Dottie Reider, Irene Hoffstetter, Muriel Wilson, and Laura Belle Mott.
He is survived by his son, Alvin Mott and wife Allison of Spurger; daughter, Laura Grice and husband Neil of Crosby; brother, Marvin Mott of Spurger; sister, Alvina Means of Spurger; grandchildren, Sarah Cline and husband Cody, E.J. Ledet, and Dalton Grice; great grandchildren, Olivia Ledet and Josephine Ledet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
