Polk County has issued a mandate evacuation

POLK COUNTY MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER FOR AREAS ALONG THE TRINITY RIVER AND BELOW THE LAKE LIVINGSTON DAM

APRIL 29, 2024 - EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

At this time, the Trinity River Authority is releasing approximately 98,500 cfs. In an effort to minimize endangering residents and first responders, a MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER for the unincorporated areas of the County along the Trinity River and below the Lake Livingston Dam, including but not limited to River Lake Estates, Holiday Lake Estates, Taylor Lake Estates and Route 66 has been issued. TRA is monitoring the lake level closely and providing information to responding agencies/entities.

The current lake level and associated water releases make it difficult to anticipate the flood levels for the next 12-24 hours. All residents in low-lying areas, especially along the Trinity River, are encouraged to evacuate at this time.

The Dunbar Gym facility, 1103 Dunbar St, is open for those residents that require shelter. Please evacuate at this time.
