Raymond S. Sheffield Nov. 3, 1942 - Sept. 1, 2024

Raymond S. Sheffield, 81, of Woodville passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at his residence.

The family will schedule a private celebration of Raymond’s life at a later date.

Raymond was born November 3, 1942 to Abner Lee and Dessie L. Shepherd Sheffield in the Emilee Community in Tyler County, Texas.  A graduate of the old Kirby High School in Woodville, he received his engineering degree from Lamar Tech in Beaumont, Texas.  He went on to receive certification in teaching and accounting.  He appreciated the beauty of numbers and enjoyed instilling his students with an understanding of how life, like numbers is exacting.  He taught math in the Woodville I.S.D. and Angelina College.  He also enjoyed maintaining the family farm and ranch in the Antioch Community of Tyler County.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, A.L. and Dessie Sheffield; wife, Rebecca Sheffield; and daughter, Catherine Sheffield.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Shown Sheffield of Woodville.
