Steve Lang Obituary. 1/28/56 - 5/10/24


Steven Lang, 68, of Nederland, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, in Beaumont, Texas.


Visitation will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville.


Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Stringer

& Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Donald Jackson.


Steven was born January 28, 1956 to Eddie Carroll and Janell Locke Lang. He was a native of Nederland and a longtime resident of Woodville. Steven was a 1974 graduate of Nederland High School, where he was a 4-year baseball letterman. He attended Lamar University and Sam Houston State on a baseball scholarship. He received his bachelors in education from Sam Houston State. He had a career in teaching and coaching in Nederland and Woodville. He also taught in Huntsville and Lumberton, retiring at Lumberton. Steven enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League and beyond. He was the assistant coach of the Alpha Omega Christian Academy, helping them win the Tapps State Baseball Championship. His style of coaching used baseball to teach many lessons in life. Steven loved hunting and fishing with his sons, grandkids and brother.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Carroll and Janell Locke Lang.


He is survived by his sons, David Lang and wife, Angela of Lumberton, Michael Lang and wife, Morgan of Gunter, and Cameron Lang of Nederland; brother, Waymond Lang and wife, Julie of Nederland; sister, LaNell Kebodeaux and husband, Chris of Nederland; grandchildren, Easton Lang, Maddy Lang and Carson Lang; and a host of nieces & nephews and other family and friends.


Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.
