Today and tomorrow likely 'hottest days of the year'

The hottest days of the year will likely be today & tomorrow with high temperatures between 100-105°F and heat indices between 111-116°F. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for most of the area today through tomorrow.

It isn't just the extreme daytime temperatures that can be dangerous, but the overnight heat indices may only drop into the mid-80s to low 90s for urban areas, and stay near 100°F along the immediate coast. These conditions will mean our bodies won't be able to recover from the heat of the day today before temperatures begin to rise again on Wednesday.
