Up-to-date fire information

Per Jasper County Judge Mark Allen, "(Evacuations are) possible with the rate the wind is blowing. The fire out off 519 keeps changing directions with the wind and the one off 835 in Buna is moving in the directions of homes."

ETB Photojournalist, Rita Shipp is reporting that smoke on Hwy 252 is getting bad and they are stopping traffic coming from Kirbyville into the area.

Allen said, "Buna VFD is working the 835 fire and has Texas Forest Service on scene, along with Devil's Pocket and Trout Creek VFD's. They feel that the danger to homes has decreased now. The fire is actually closer to County Road 838."

Texas Forest Service is on scene at the 519 fire along with Tri-Community, Roganville and Kirbyville VFD's.
