Veleta Joyce Bennett dies at 83.

Veleta Joyce Bennett, 83 of Lumberton passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 Friday, Feb. 9, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville.  Graveside service will be 11 am Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Welcome Cemetery in Simpson, Louisiana. 

Born October 2, 1940 in Simpson, LA to Gilbert Bennett and Louise (Johnson), she lived in Lumberton the last 6 years and was previously a resident of Kirbyville. 

She is survived by her children, Joey White and Christina Carrera, Mark White and Heather, Teresa White, all of Lumberton; grandchildren, Cody Gibbs, Emily Roy, Josie Smith, Ethan White, Gavin White; great grandchildren, Logan Roy and Johnathan Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Bruce White.
